International relations manager at CLEANTECH LATVIA Evija Pudane had a meeting with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia region Peter Burian. The conversation was also attended by the Political Adviser to the EUSR for Central Asia Raimonds Vingris and Eastern Europe and Central Asia DepartmentSecond Secretary Gints Serafinovics.
Trade mission of Cleantech enterprises was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from 29 to 31 March 2016. Mission was organized by CLEANTECH LATVIA and following Latvian and Finish partners were represented: LTD Karme Filtrs, LTD Vega1, LTD Technobalt, LTD General Energy Group, Doranova Oy, Ferroplan Oy and Kaukointernational Oy.
On 22 March 2016 the association CLEANTECH received the final payment of financial support in the framework of the project Clean Technology Cluster, Con. No. L-SSP-12-0009, and in this wayfinalizing project closure.
The project objective was to bring together Latvian clean technology companies, universities and research institutes with the experience, knowledge and technologies and ensure a common approach to the global market by promoting the exchange of information, attraction of investments and foreign market entry.
On 27 January CLEANTECH LATVIA experts held a meeting with fund management company ZGI Capital (ZGI) about possible investment in member companies of CLEANTECH LATVIA.
ZGI got acquainted with the members of CLEANTECH LATVIA and their interests in export markets, as well as with potential of growth and interest in attraction of financial resources to ensure a high rate development. ZGI showed a particular interest to the following companies: LTD General Energy Group, LTD Auravia Latvia, LTD BELSS, JSC Biotehniskais Centrs, LTD EkoStandarts Tehnoloģijas, LTD Eko Osta, LTD KARME FILTRS, LTD VEGA 1 and LTD WATEX.
At the moment some companies are discussing opportunities for cooperation.
ZGI Capital was founded in 2005 and since that has invested in more than 10 projects in different industries. They have more than 15 investors, including local and foreign private investors, institutional investors, such as Development Financial Institution Altum, SEB Group, First Closed Pension Fund and European Regional Development Fund.
Project Partners Meeting and Steering Group Meeting – in the framework of the CB2EAST project was held on 26 January 2016 in Helsinki, Finland.
On November 17 CB2East project partners Finnish Water Forum, Gren Net Finland and CleanTech Latvia gathered its partners and other interested parties to the new projects’ kick-off event which took place in Break Sokos Hotel Flamingo, Vantaa, Helsinki, Finland. Overall the kick-off event gathered more than 20 industry representatives and entrepreneurs from Finland and Latvia. Read more
From 17th to 18th September CLEANTECH LATVIJA representatives – Anete Meļņika and Sabīne Ščerbača – participated in the third “Cluster-to-cluster Conference and Matchmaking: Innovation by Combination” which took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. Read more
On September 16 – 18 the international specialized exhibition “Ecotech 2015” took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan. For the first time Latvian Clean Technology Cluster CLEANTECH LATVIA participated in the exhibition whose stand was popular among the visitors of the exhibition and received the honor of the exhibition organizers “Debut of the Year”. Recycling, renewable energy sources and water treatment technologies raised the most of visitors’ interest. Read more
Goods news for CLEANTECH LATVIA team – project concept on joint marketing activities with Finnish Water Forum un GreenNet Finland in the Central Asian markets to promote Latvian and Finnish water companies` export opportunities has been approved for funding by the Steering Committee (SC) of the Central Baltic programme in its meeting on August 25 – 26, 2015.
In order to this a project “Central Baltic Cleantech Clusters expanding to East of EU markets” or CB2East has been established and to start it off a project kick-off meeting will be organized on November 2, 2015 in Helsinki, Finland. Read more
CLEANTECH LATVIA is a cluster of clean technologies, which brings together Latvian companies and research institutions to enhance the competitive advantages of each other, and the cluster as a whole.
We are currently active in Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan) and Northwest Russia. In 2015 was started market research in Latin America, the Balkans, India and Iran.
