Municipal solid waste (MSW) sorting station in Latvia, produced by our partner Technobalt Group, is biggest in Baltics.

Thanks to modern sorting technology the majority of the municipal waste is reused. Plant is sorting out many different materials e.g. biodegradable waste for producing biogas and different palstic materials (PET, HDPE, LDPE, PP, mixed plastic) to produce RDF-fuel. Special magnetic separator is sorting out balck and nonferrous metals. Input capacity of the plant is 300 000 tons per year.

Conclusion of project “Clean technologies cluster”

On 22 March 2016 the association CLEANTECH received the final payment of financial support in the framework of the project Clean Technology Cluster, Con. No. L-SSP-12-0009, and in this wayfinalizing project closure.

The project objective was to bring together Latvian clean technology companies, universities and research institutes with the experience, knowledge and technologies and ensure a common approach to the global market by promoting the exchange of information, attraction of investments and foreign market entry.

Meeting with Green Light Investment

On 27 January CLEANTECH LATVIA experts held a meeting with fund management company ZGI Capital (ZGI) about possible investment in member companies of CLEANTECH LATVIA.

ZGI got acquainted with the members of CLEANTECH LATVIA and their interests in export markets, as well as with potential of growth and interest in attraction of financial resources to ensure a high rate development. ZGI showed a particular interest to the following companies: LTD General Energy Group, LTD Auravia Latvia, LTD BELSS, JSC Biotehniskais Centrs, LTD EkoStandarts Tehnoloģijas, LTD Eko Osta, LTD KARME FILTRS, LTD VEGA 1 and LTD WATEX.

At the moment some companies are discussing opportunities for cooperation.

ZGI Capital was founded in 2005 and since that has invested in more than 10 projects in different industries. They have more than 15 investors, including local and foreign private investors, institutional investors, such as Development Financial Institution Altum, SEB Group, First Closed Pension Fund and European Regional Development Fund.

CB2East has officially started!

On November 17 CB2East project partners Finnish Water Forum, Gren Net Finland and CleanTech Latvia gathered its partners and other interested parties to the new projects’ kick-off event which took place in Break Sokos Hotel Flamingo, Vantaa, Helsinki, Finland. Overall the kick-off event gathered more than 20 industry representatives and entrepreneurs from Finland and Latvia. Read more
