CLEANTECH LATVIA delegation visits Uzbekistan
The CLEANTECH LATVIA delegation visited Tashkent, Uzbekistan from September 20 to September 27, 2021. The delegation consisted of a cluster team and representatives from member companies – Aqua Brambis, Automation Engineering, Ekolat, Sungis and Karme Filtrs.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss cooperation opportunities with Uzbek Ministries and private commercial organizations, as well as to participate in a seminar organized by the cluster. The aim of the seminar was to improve the skills and abilities of the staff of JSC UZSUVTAMINOT for more successful and efficient implementation of investment projects in the field of water supply and sanitation, where experts nominated by the cluster members spoke and shared knowledge.
In parallel with the training, the Latvian delegation held several high-level meetings, including with the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Construction of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Water Resources of Uzbekistan, the State Committee on Ecology and Environmental protection of Uzbekistan. During the meetings the following issue were discussed: the competencies of the cluster members, interests and needs of the involved parties and potential points of cooperation. The parties confirmed their interest in expanding Latvian-Uzbek cooperation, emphasizing the huge potential of the practical experience accumulated by CLEANTECH LATVIA, despite the difficult situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic. After returning to Latvia, the parties have agreed to continue the ongoing negotiations and work on establishing strong connection and cooperation in the future.
