CLEANTECH LATVIA meets with Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and discusses cooperation

During the period of 09.09.2019-12.09.2019 CLEANTECH LATVIA participated in Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Russian Federation visit to Kazahn, Russian federation.

As part of the visit, company representatives and official delegation went to the presidential residence in the Kremlin, where a meeting was held with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, Aleksey Valeryevich Pesoshin. During the meeting, Ambassador Maris Riekstins expressed his readiness to promote and develop economic cooperation, taking advantage of the potential and geographical advantages of both regions, as well as the Republic of Latvia’s specific offer in the field of transport and logistics, which would ensure that the Republic of Tatarstan has access to the EU common market.

“We are interested in extending the trading range and volume with Latvia,” Mr. Pesoshin said, adding that Latvia is an important partner to Tatarstan. According to 2018 results, bilateral foreign-trade turnover between the parties reached more than $220 million. According to the second quarter of 2019 results, foreign-trading turnover is $77.3 million. Maris Riekstins noted that Latvia attaches great importance to relations with Russian regions and currently Tatarstan and the Republic of Latvia have great opportunities to develop joint business projects and extend contacts in several areas.

CLEANTECH LATVIA Executive Director Evija Pudane delivered a speech, outlined the main directions of the company’s work in the environmental field and discussed the possibility to develop cooperation between Latvia and Tatarstan.
