To promote business cooperation between Latvia and Kazakhstan in the field of water and extend the Latvian environmental technology companies on the Central Asian market, CLEANTECH LATVIA (Latvian Clean Technology Cluster) companies with a common “Cleantech Latvia” stand from May 27 to May 29 took part in the international water exhibition “SU ARNASY 2015” in Astana. During a conference held in the parallel of exhibition, CLEANTECH LATVIA gave a presentation on cluster main activity directions and outlined potential areas of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Latvia.
During the exhibition CLEANTECH LATVIA and partners met with the representatives of Latvian Embassy in Kazakhstan, Director of Kazakhstan Water Association “SU Arnasi” as well as with the Ministry of Environment Water Supply deparment director to present the current achievements in the field of technology and to discuss potential areas of cooperation. For the Kazakh side Latvian companies` offer and expertise seems very attractive because it combines high quality, professionalism and competitive price. As stated by the representative of Kazakh Ministry of Environment: “Latvia is an ideal partner because of its experience in working with projects up to 10 000 inhabitants. Kazakhstan has no problem with the big city water and sewage treatment plants, it is essential to find the most effective solution in less populated areas. “
Overall the exhibition was attended by more than 3000 water sector experts and 70 companies from 14 countries, including Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Russia, Latvia, Germany, Denmark and others. The next exhibiton is planned in 2017.
